Storage

The AMT sensor has a combined pH or ORP and reference electrodes in one housing, so it uses a single storage cap.

This storage cap is filled with KCl.

Storage caps are provided with the instrument. Contact RBR if a replacement is needed.

The AMT pH and ORP sensor must always be hydrated. Any period of dry storage longer than several hours will affect performance and could damage the sensor.

The lifespan of the sensor is environment- and storage-dependent; the best practice is to ensure the sensor is stored with the protective cap installed and full of the storage solution when not in use to maximise the sensor’s lifetime.

Check the sensor performance after any extended period of storage.

Remove the storage cap before using the sensors.

Calibration

Calibrate the AMT pH sensor before each deployment, using three buffer fluids. Repeat every day that the electrode is used, for optimum accuracy. See Ruskin User Guide: Standard Instruments3 for details.
