Pressure (D)
Any RBRsolo⁴ or RBRduet⁴ that measures pressure (D), including all variants, uses a piezoresistive pressure sensor, as shown in Fig. 6. A clear plastic guard protects the sensor. During deployments, always orient it downwards to reduce debris collecting on the membrane of the pressure sensor.

| tide32 and | wave32 variants take averages of pressure readings over extended periods of time, providing accurate tide level data. | wave32 instruments can also obtain wave characteristics and detect infrequent phenomena, like boat wakes. |

Barometric variant
The RBRsolo⁴ D is also available as a barometric instrument. It shares the same form factor and configuration as the rest of the product line. You can use the resulting dataset, together with Ruskin or RSKtools, to atmospherically correct other water level time series. For full details see Ruskin User Guide: Compact Instruments⁴.
To best align with the calibration and minimise the collection of material on the transducer face, RBR recommends deploying with the pressure sensor facing down.
