Troubleshooting
Because the RBRcervello system comprises multiple components, troubleshooting may be a multi-stage process. It involves separate procedures to verify correct functionality of each.
Follow the steps outlined in Using the diagnostic port to open the command menu. Refer to Deployment preparation for the detailed description of how to run diagnostic tests.
Communication issues
- Using the status command, check the status of the instrument.
- If the instrument status is "commchannelerror", run the MLM diagnostic task.
- If the instrument status is "loggererror", ensure your logger is communicating at 19200baud (use Ruskin to check).
If you change any settings on Ruskin, clear the data from the instrument and the data controller, as described in Deployment preparation.
GSM
Run the GSM diagnostic task to troubleshoot common errors, such as a bad SIM-card or poor Internet connection.
Failure, bad SIM-card

If so, remove and re-insert the SIM card in the tray in the SIM1 position, as explained in the Telemetry section.
RUDICS
Run the RUDICS diagnostic task to identify failures in the modem, signal strength, or activation issues of the SIM-card.
Failure, no satellite signal
This error indicates there is a connection problem with the antenna, or the antenna is obstructed.

Failure, no carrier or activation issue
This failure usually occurs because of a bad connection with the network or when the SIM-card has not been successfully activated.
