Replacing the batteries
See Hardware overview for details on accessing the battery carousel.
The RBRcervata is powered using 48 alkaline, NiMH, or LiSOCl2 D-cell batteries. RBR recommends using fresh batteries before each deployment.
The batteries are all arranged with their positive terminal pointing towards the battery end cap.
Remove batteries from the positive terminal end first. Insert batteries with the negative terminal end first.
When using alkaline or nickel metal hydride batteries, simply put them in the carousel, ensuring correct polarity. These batteries are magnetic and hold in place on the carousel with no additional steps required.

Lithium batteries do not have enough magnetic material to hold them together in assembly. Use the red retention bands provided with your RBRcervata, as shown.
